The State Bank of India has contributed Rs. 714 crore to TCG Urban Infrastructure, a company based in New York that is building a one million square foot leasable world trade center in Gurugram.

A significant land bank in India is owned by The Chatterjee Group (TCG), a business with headquarters in New York. According to a person with knowledge of the agreement, the corporation has contributed a significant amount of capital to the specific project in Gurgaon as well. It has raised the remaining funds from the market.
Energetic Construction Pvt. Ltd., the company carrying out the project, is being promoted by TCG Urban Infrastructure Holding Pvt. Ltd., per the registered document.
The project has 72,407 square feet of retail space and 940,761 square feet of office space. SBI did not reply to the email inquiry, and TCG declined to comment on the deal.
Between 2021 and 2023, private equity investors invested USD 10.7 billion (about Rs 843 billion) in the industry through approximately 100 transactions. In recent years, transaction volumes have climbed by more than 25% yearly, and investment values have increased by 13.7% to reach USD 3.9 billion.
Over this time, the typical deal sizes have varied from USD 100 to USD 120 million (Rs 8.3 to 9.9 billion). The majority of investments were made in the office segment (51%), which was followed by industrial and warehousing (20%). Diversification into other industries, including as data centers, life sciences, and student housing, illustrates the changing tastes of investors.

It projects that there will be more than 50 World Trade Centers, up from the existing 40, in the next five to seven years. Currently, 40 Indian cities have permits for the association; however, not all of these towns have a building.
Nonetheless, the association anticipates that the license holders in each of these towns will offer trade services. The WTCA is examining Indian cities and regions where a World Trade Center might be beneficial and fit in with the local economy to aid in its construction.
